In the very beginning, there was only the void. A vast, empty expanse, silent and without form. Within this void, raw magical energies slowly gathered over countless ages. These energies coalesced into a great mass, growing in power and intensity until, at last, it reached a critical threshold. The result was an event now known as The Mass Cascade.
In an instant, the mass of magical energy erupted in a wave of pure, unbound magic that swept through the void, shaping everything we know today. Planets formed from the dust of creation, their surfaces ignited by the energy of newborn stars. Some worlds, touched by the cascade, gained atmospheres capable of sustaining life, while on others, the magic sparked the genesis of living beings, flora, and fauna.
The explosion was so vast and so swift that it happened in the blink of an eye. In that brief moment, the foundations of the known universe were laid. Where once there had been nothing, there now existed matter, energy, and the beginnings of life.
Yet, The Mass Cascade did more than create the physical universe. It also gave rise to three distinct planes of existence. The space between them, known simply as The Cascade, is a mysterious void, connecting all realms yet keeping them apart. These three realms include the Realm of the Living, the world we know and inhabit, and two others formed from the remnants of the energies unleashed by the cascade.
From the positive forces of the explosion arose the Plane of Heaven, a place of clarity and order, bathed in radiant energies. Conversely, the negative forces coalesced into the Plane of Chaos, a realm where wild, untamed energies rage and twist the fabric of existence. These planes, though separate, influence each other in subtle ways, shaping the destinies of those who dwell within them.
The Mass Cascade stands as the beginning of all things—a singular moment from which the universe, the planes, and the magic that binds them were born.
